Bedrock Marble Series | Utility Bed with Gooseneck Towing Review

Whether you are a general contractor, a plumber, or working the Texas oil fields, your truck is your most important tool. If you have been searching for a way to get the massive storage of a service body without sacrificing your towing capabilities, you need to check out our latest video on the Marble series from Bedrock Truck Beds.

In this video, Brandon and Easton break down why the Marble is considered the “best of both worlds” for commercial construction use. One of the biggest pain points with standard utility bodies is that their tall side packs often eliminate the ability to tow gooseneck trailers. The Marble series solves this by featuring lower side pack heights that allow you to keep your 30,000-pound B&W gooseneck hitch while still providing ample tool storage.

Key featured highlights in the video include:

  • Versatile Storage: Full-length top lid boxes and rear compartments equipped with gas shocks and automotive-grade weather stripping to keep your tools dry.
  • Heavy-Duty Towing: Beyond the gooseneck, every bed comes standard with an 18,000-pound rated rear receiver hitch.
  • Open Deck Space: Plenty of room for fuel transfer tanks, air compressors, or job boxes, supplemented by six 6,000-pound rated recessed D-rings.
  • Patented Innovation: A look at the adjustable headache rack, a feature Bedrock has been perfecting since 2014.

Hey guys, we’re here to look at the Marble series from Bedrock Truck Beds. This is our utility style bed. I’m here with Easton today. We want to talk about more of the specifics of that.

0:10 Why The Bedrock Marble Series Truck Bed?

Man, as I look at this thing, wow, it’s very versatile. How do your customers use it? What benefit will it give my customer?

It’s a great question, Brandon. So, what’s good about the Marble? What customer does it fit?

The better question is what customer does it not fit? This is a general contractor’s bed right here.

0:25 Versatility At Its Finest

We send it out to the Texas oil fields, electrical contractors, plumbing contractors, just commercial construction use. You can make use of almost anything with this bed. This is our, as Brandon said, our utility style bed. This bed is the best of both worlds. Benefits: storage of a service body, yet lower side pack heights to keep your 30,000-pound B&W gooseneck hitch.

0:45 Just A Bit Different

Unlike most utility bodies with the taller side packs, it does eliminate your gooseneck option, as in you cannot [tow] your gooseneck trailers. So, obviously, you’re able to keep your towing capacity. We do have these nice 6,000-pound rated recessed D-rings as well—six in the bed space here.

You’re going to have a wide cargo space here, whether it’s a single wheel or a dual wheel or cab and chassis bed here. So, plenty of room if you need to stick a fuel transfer tank, job box, anything you need; air compressor—you’re going to have enough room for that in the open deck space.

1:14 Heavy-Duty With The Works

Heavy-duty tailgate with lights, work lights built into the tank. May not forget our receiver hitch. Every bed comes standard with a rear receiver hitch—18,000-pound rating with the 2-inch tube. We can always upgrade that to a 24K 2.5-inch as well.

1:28 Space Availability

As you can see, a lot of space here. Each bed is going to come standard with one adjustable shelf. Plenty of room to add more shelves if you’d like, or you get with Brandon here and you can get you a nice drawer set built to go in there as well.

That’s going to be a nice open front box as well. We got a full-length top lid box here. This bed—kind of hard to see here—but this is a full-length bed with full storage here, folks. Going right into our rear compartment, you’ve got full storage here. And also, you can reach in and grab any tools you might need just opening up this back door from your top box.

2:00 All-Weather All-Working Perks

All these doors [are] operated with nice gas shocks. And all doors are protected with automotive-grade weather stripping with a compression T-handle latch. Once you close that, you can feel the latch compress against the seal. Keep your tools nice and dry.

2:17 Adjustable Headache Rack

Hey, one of the most unique features of the Bedrock bed is this adjustable headache rack. What that allows us to do as installers is to make certain that we get the very best fit for your truck. What’s important is each gooseneck bed you purchase from Bedrock comes standard with our patented adjustable headache rack.

Folks, we did not design this with hope and a prayer; this has been thoughtfully engineered. We’ve tried to break it, and since we started building Bedrocks in 2014, we have never had to replace a broken or cracked gusset or headache rack on a Bedrock bed.

The strength is there. The adjustability factor is there. And customers, don’t worry. Brandon’s going to make sure this rack’s adjusted properly before the install.

I tell you what, that is really innovation you can count on. And it’s solid as a rock, guys. Hey, visit us at texastruckbeds.com, 3W Truck Beds. You’ll find a lineup of Bedrock beds there. Give us a call or text 3W Truck Beds at 254-739-5483.
