Once we find the right match for your truck and we get the right bed, we’ll schedule that one- day truck bed installation. We really value your time and we know how important it is to get your truck back. Other installers may take multiple days where you drop it off and wait for the beds to get installed. Customers ask us what does that one-day install look like?
0:21 – Our Truck Bed Install Process
On a high level, you get here by 8:00 a.m., drop your truck off. Some customers will hang out with us all day. If you’re from far out of town, we’d be happy to help you with lodging or hotel accommodations.
So the basic steps of this one-day install; we’ll start with removing your factory bed. We have your steel flatbed pulled and on a lift and we’re doing lots of prep work there. We’re installing backup sensors, backup cameras; you may need mud flaps; we do that as well. We make certain that all of the electrical system is ready to go and matches your truck just right.
0:57 – Our Fabrication & Welding Process
One common misconception that customers will have is that since we found the right bed to fit your truck that that bed will just bolt right up, but that’s not the case. We will custom fabricate framework that we weld to the bed. Once we’ve done that, then we bolt that bed to the truck. We do not weld any beds; we don’t weld to the frame of your truck. That way we’re able to eliminate any concerns that the truck manufacturer may have about a warranty, and we also make it much easier to remove that bed at a later date. Because that bed is bolted on, it’s a huge time and cost savings at a later date if you ever need to remove it.
1:35 Final Quality Control Check & Inspection
Our obsession with a proper fit really shines through once we’re able to set that bed down onto your truck. If you’re here waiting with us, we’ll make sure that you give us a final approval before we finish it. Once we do that, we’re really close to finishing up that process. When the bed is completely down and everything is bolted to the truck, we’ll do our final quality control inspection; make sure that all of the lights are working properly and that everything is good to go. We want to make certain that everything from structural Integrity to the backup sensor camera, anything that is featured on that bed is working perfectly fine and gives you the full confidence to leave here and put that truck back to work.
